内容简介In SN plates, the typical alumina-carbon system refractories popularly in use contain less carbon because of concern for damage to the sliding surface of the plate generally attributed to oxidization of the carbon material. Although carbon materials have the beneficial effect of reducing the elastic modulus and thermal expansion coefficient of refractories, it is very important to pay careful attention to the carbon characteristics and their effects, particularly in the case of reduced amount of carbon. The authors prepared specimens of various alumina-carbon bricks with varying carbon additions and firing temperatures using different kinds of carbon raw materials with different characteristics to evaluate the features of specimens and explain the development of refractory material properties.
