The first meeting on September 21st was a Technical presentation at Ceram by David Bell of Vesuvius Group Development department. The meeting was attended by 13 members and the topic was "Some new development in Refractory Technology". David indicated that the pace of new developments is not as dramatic as a few years ago but outlined the growing interest and importance of initialisation ladles. He also discussed ladle linings and their changing designs and more extensive use of thermal modelling and imaging of process.
