内容简介Alumina-chromite castables are conventionally used in waste melting furnaces to prevent severe corrosion by high-temperature slag with high alkali content. However, chromium oxide-free refractories are demanded from an environmental view point because trivalent chromium ion easily converts to the harmful hexavalent chromium ion. There are some reports on chromium oxide-free refractories such as alumina-magnesia, alumina-nickel oxide and magnesia-spinel-zirconia. Taking a deep interest in rare earth metal oxides having a high-temperature melting point among transition metals, the authors reported in the previous paper on the development of alumina-yttria castable as a chromium oxide-free castable for waste melting furnacesThis paper presents the results of an investigation on a high-magnesia castable and a high-silicon carbide castable.
