内容简介To establish the quality certification of refractories, it is common to inspect the appearance (cracks, edge defects, maculation, and contaminants) and the shape (warpage, blistering, angle anomalies, etc.) for each manufacturing lot. Needless to say, the necessary testing of physical properties and chemical composition is also done, and only the products that have acceptable quality, based on all of the examinations and testing, will be approved for shipment. From the viewpoint of improving the quality certification system, nondestructive (NDT) inspection methods, such as x-ray or sonic, have recently been introduced to investigate the interior structure of products. For some of the functional products, such as submerged entry nozzles (SEN), these NDT methods are used to check for internal defects on all pieces (100% inspection).
