内容简介Aluminum titanate ceramics doped with Y_2O_3 and Nb_2O_5 were fired at 1500°C for 2 h. The samples were rather dense, >93% of the theoretical density of aluminum titanate. They also contained grain-boundary cracks with volume of 3 to 6% due to thermal expansion anisotropy of aluminum titanate crystal. The corrosion resistance against molten aluminum alloy at 800 and 1000°C was good and addition of Y_2O_3 was very effective. At the interface of molten aluminum and the titanate ceramics, Al_2MgO_4 and/or MgO interface layer was formed and this layer acted as a protective layer. Addition of Nb_2O_5 accelerates the corrosion especially at 800°C. Co-doping of Y_2O_3 and Nb_2O_5 did not influence the corrosion resistance.
