内容简介When the amount of carbon content in MgO-C bricks is reduced for the purpose of controlling heat loss by lowering the thermal conductivity or for improving the durability for converters and secondary refining, sufficient consideration is required to suppress both reduced thermal shock resistance and increased elastic modulus so that cracks are not generated in the bricks under the operation conditions. In the case of low carbon content in MgO-C bricks, sintering in operation is more easily promoted than in the case of high carbon content bricks, and it is indicated that consideration of property changes due to sintering is required and it is also reported that the purity of the magnesia clinker influences the progress of sintering.
