内容简介Aluminum titanate ceramics are expected to be used more in ladles and other equipment, in the aluminum-casting industry, because of their superior characteristic of low thermal expansion and, therefore, high resistance to thermal shock. In the usage of ceramics in aluminum-casting, it is well-known that molten aluminum is a very reactive metal and it reduces many oxides, such as titania, to metal. This paper reports our results of investigation on corrosion of doped aluminum titanate ceramics by molten aluminum alloy. Further the results were discussed based on the constituents in the ceramic and the grain-boundary cracks.
