内容简介Because a domestic waste contains alkaline ions as Na~+ and K~+ and alkaline earth metal ions as Ca~(2+), refractories are severely corroded by the molten slag during operation at elevated temperature in a waste vitrified fusion furnace. To cope with this problem Al_2O_3-Cr_2O_3 system refractories with excellent slag corrosion resistance are in common use as lining materials. However, this practice is faced with the issue that Cr~(6+) poisonous to humans is easily produced. It is therefore strongly desired to develop and realize chrome-free refractories with excellent slag corrosion resistance as quickly as possible. Consequently the authors investigated the effect of the addition of various non-oxide materials such as SiC, Si_3N_4 and AlN to MgO-Al_2O_3 system refractories that have drawn especially close attention as corrosion resistant chrome-free refractories in recent research.
