内容简介Chromia (Cr_2O_3) has as high melting point of 2265°C and the characteristic of forming a complete solid solution with alumina covering the entire alumina-chromia composition range. This solid solution has a high melting point of more than 2000°C. Also, chromia has various excellent properties such as wet resistance and corrosion resistance to molten slag, and the property of increasing the slag viscosity in the case chromia was eluted into molten slag. Due to these excellent properties, it is well known, that the slag corrosion resistance of alumina material can be improved by the formation of a solid solution with chromia. It is generally thought that the slag corrosion resistance of alumina-chromia solid solution varies widely according to the mixture ratio of each component. In this study, the corrosion resistance characteristics of alumina-chromia sintered bodies containing ZrO_2 and SiO_2 component with the goal of densifying the sintered body were investigated by evaluating the resistance to corrosion by molten slag.
