内容简介It is well-known that abrasion is a typical wear mechanism for sliding nozzle (SN) plates. To improve the abrasion resistance of sliding nozzle plates, a study of densification was conducted. For the purpose of densifying the structure, it is necessary to study the particle size grading composition with regard for the filling of intergranular openings, and many studies have been conducted based on the theories of Furnas, Andreasen, et al. Concerning SN plate refractories, such investigation reports have been published by Nitawaki et al. (1996) and Itoh et al. (2002). In this paper, a practical study was carried out first, based on the space-filling theories of Furnace, Andreasen, and Suzuki, followed by a comparative evaluation of the various properties of SN plate refractories.
