内容简介The powder line material of submerged nozzles for continuous casting of steel, require high corrosion resistance because the mold powder tends to form a molten slag which contacts and reacts with the refractory nozzle. Therefore, a refractory of ZrO_2-C type (hereafter called ZG), which has low reactivity with the molten slag has generally been used. Until now, for the purpose of improving the properties of ZG refractories, such factors as ZrO_2 content, additives, coarse particle species, particle size compositions, density, etc., have been investigated. However, few studies have been done on the relationship between the internal crack population of the ZrO_2 aggregate and the corrosion resistance. So this study was conducted, using two different kinds of ZrO_2 with different contents of internal defects (cracks), to investigate their effect on the refractory corrosion and spalling resistance.
