A series of insulating wet-gunning refractories having different thermal conductivities was developed by designing a material constitution based on the results of pumping evaluation tests. The insulating refractories have been successfully applied in various plants, mainly incinerators, because they have excellent gunning yield and pumping performance. Comparing to conventional casting and dry-gunning methods, the wet-gunning method developed by us gives more rapid construction work and a better working environment.
