内容简介In Fig. 13, the change of corrosion resistance is shown in relation to the added amounts of MgO and NiO. With the addition of MgO and NiO, a (Mg, Ni)O solid solution is formed resulting in a composition with corrosion resistance near to that of a 30 percent chromia refractory. Furthermore, with use of (Mg, Ni)O clinker which was previously fired at higher temperature, additional improved corrosion resistance was obtained. As the result of the present investigation, the corrosion resistance, which is considered to be the most detrimental property of the chrome-free castable, has been improved as a practical countermeasure for the corrosion of waste melting furnace refractories. However, there is a need for further research on peeling and thermal spalling, etc. Furthermore, problems such as the influence of C/S fluctuation on durability and other questions have to be resolved in the future
