内容简介

In recent years, the price of virgin raw materials from all over the world has risen dramatically. A large part of this is due to the increasing development in the Asian markets particularly in India and China; where domestic demand means materials such as bauxite and magnesite are no longer readily available for export. Transportation costs from China have also risen to over 100 dollars per tonne to European ports. These supply and transportation issues have led to even the most conservative refractory producers in the UK searching for substitute sources and materials. One solution on the realisation that the supply chain for reclaimed materials is long -term, was for refractory producers to maximise the levels of reclaimed materials in their traditional refractory recipes or for them to develop new refractory products based 100 percent on recycled materials. However the refractory producers are only willing to do this if they have the confidence in the quality, consistency and availability of these reclaimed materials.
