内容简介Bricks in the cone of BOF converters commonly fall off during service, and during the removal of chilled steel. The loss of bricks requires that repairs be made each time and the service life of the lining is reduced, resulting in the need to implement various countermeasures. However, some of the previous countermeasures", which have been tried until now, to control the loss of bricks, have not always been effective. In recent years there has been a trend toward changing the horizontal installation of bricks in the cone lining to a forward inclined design, which has reduced the falling off of bricks in service. However, in some cases the forward inclined lining has also been ineffective, whereby further improvements are still needed. Considering the previous lining changes/improvements which have been tried, we determined how the loss of bricks was related to the cone lining design, through structural analysis technology. The guiding principle(s) for making the appropriate improvements has been presented. Our studies were based on material data for the bricks and steel shell, using the finite element method (F.E.M.), with boundary conditions which involved consideration of actual operating conditions'.
