内容简介With the purpose of gaining the most benefit of flake graphite to improve both corrosion resistance and spalling resistance of castables, the method of adding flake graphite in briquettes was investigated and the following knowledge was obtained: a) To produce dense briquettes, the type of binder and the amount are important factors, and from the results of this study it was concluded that 4% liquid resin was the best. b) By adding flake graphite in briquettes: Flowability, oxidization resistance, and spalling resistance of castables were improved. It was possible to make castables with apparent porosity and corrosion resistance nearly equal to the standard mix (base composition). c) The method described in this paper, offers promising prospects for practical use in the field, especially regarding spalling resistance, which is the main improvement effect of flake graphite.
