Bizen-yaki is a brand name of the specific art craft pottery which is produced around Bizen city in Okayama prefecture Japan. Bizen is the name of the area and "Yaki" is a shorten word of "Yakimono" which means "pottery". Bizen-yaki has been made by traditional methods over 1000 years and it's body color image is differents to usual potteries. This paper describes Bizen-yaki from two points of view, the speciality of it, and the result of a scientific study on it by one of this paper's authors Yamaguchi.
