The season in which water is abundant in rice fields and hydrangea furnishes fresh colors in a rural area and mountains has just begun. In my garden, different hydrangeas have started to bloom as well, satisfying my admiring feelings of the flower. Hydrangea is widely evaluated due to its neatness and gorgeousness in this season of Japan, and its vivid sturdiness makes me astonish at the same time. Admiring the floating hydrangea in the drizzling rain, I retrospect the past and mediate on the future prospect. Thirty years have past since my participation in the refractories industry which enchanted me so much by a mysterious power in the past and present as well. I am much obliged to the guidance and instruction of the predecessors. Looking back in the past, a strong impression of the refractories technology strikes me by the words, "From imagination to creation." On that account, I have been bestowed a joy of imagination. Because of few information and knowledge related with refractories world, the imagination rather than logical thinking has pushed me forward in the manner of trial and error. Starting from "Why", and ending to "What" and "How", I have made my thinking innovated at all times. Avoiding to be self -complacent, discourses and debates have been abundant. I cannot forget the exalted moment to have concretely resolved the problem of "What" and "How." I think the word "Beginners must think themselves without assistance for their advancement" by Hideyuki Fujisawa, honorary champion of "Go" game, is a wise saying adequate to refractories engineers as well.
