内容简介

In fluorine disposal furnaces, the refractories are attacked by fluorine gases (F2, HF), which are formed by the decomposition of fluorine compounds. Because fluorine gases react easily with SiO_2 and CaO, to form low-melting compounds, a pure alumina brick is usually used for the refractory lining. However, in many cases alkali components coexist with the fluorine compounds, so the use of pure alumina brick is not always effective. Furthermore, from the refractory installation point of view, in some cases unshaped refractories are preferred. But not many papers have been published on the reaction of fluorine gases and refractories. This is attributed to the fact that fluorine gases are poisonous and difficult to handle. Asahi Glass has a lot of experience with fluorine treatment furnaces and their performance, some of which are discussed herein.
