Corrosion resistance against BOF slug can be improved by the impregnation of pitch into cast MgO-C bricks that were burned at low temperature. This result was considered to occur because the matrix structure of the MgO-C bricks was densified by the impregnation of pitch. It is important to control the burning temperature of MgO-C bricks that contain metal powder.
