内容简介The iron corrosion resistance of a tap hole mix, containing a high amount of silicon nitride and silicon carbide, was improved by the addition of Al-containing components (metallic Al and fine Al_2O_3). The increased iron corrosion resistance was attributed to increasing the distribution of Al through the Si-N-O glassy network, which formed because of diffusion of Si and N from silicon nitride. Good results were achieved in an operating blast furnace, with increased tapping time and extension of the tap hole length, by using a tap hole mix to which Al-containing components were added.
