Insulating refractories and light-weight kiln furniture make it possible to improve the setting workability of green bodies in a kiln, to improve the efficiency of heat storage or to reduce the heat loss, and to improve the productivity, furthermore, the benefits of insulating refractories and light-weight kiln furniture make a significant contribution to our society from the standpoint of economic savings. Despite the improvements to date, there are more improvements that the refractory manufacturers need to make, such as improvement of the bending resistance and the product yield. Zealous efforts are demanded. In the future, by working in cooperation with the users, to obtain their specific needs/demands, more satisfactory kiln furniture will be supplied, along with more and more contributions to environmental conservation.
