内容简介When ceramic powder compacts are exposed to microwaves, some of them absorb microwave energy and their temperature increases. This is called internal heating where the materials to be heated are directly self-heated. Differing from the case of external heating in which heat is transferred from an external source of heat to the material, the temperature inside the internally heated material might be different from the temperature at the surface. The purpose of this research was to investigate the temperature distribution within alumina powder compacts with and without heat-assisting material when they were exposed to microwave energy.
