It was found that important properties such as spalling resistance, oxidation abrasion resistance, etc. for SN plate bricks were greatly influenced by the surface properties of alumina raw materials used in their fabrication. It is considered that the proper use of alumina raw materials in relation to wear patterns is desirable.
