A fiber-free insulation coating material based on a hollow alumina-silica aggregate was developed. It proved effective not only in insulating nozzles for continuous casting but also in forming a protective antioxidation layer on their surface, thus extending their service lives. Our next plan is to develop insulation coating materials suitable for various applications and operational conditions.
