It was determined that control of the preheating temperature was an effective way of improving the buildup reduction effect of materials that are less susceptible to buildup, like carbon-free and alumina-silica types. Further, in actual field trials, it was determined that a similar change of buildup characteristics occurred for the change of preheating temperature. Hereafter, further development of materials to reduce alumina buildup on the inner surface of SEN's will be pursued. Moreover, further optimization of the preheating conditions will be considered.
