Successful applications of wear resistant advanced ceramics in cement plants are not yet as extensive as those in iron and steel making plants and metal casting shops because of problems such as crack formation by thermal shock, thermal expansion and oxidation. However, there are many challenging targets for advanced ceramics in cement plants.
