内容简介This research investigated the effect of the powder size and quantity of added metallic silicon on properties such as the abrasion resistance after oxidation and the spalling resistance of the sliding nozzle plate. The following results were clarified: 1) Increase in the quantity of added metallic silicon had a trend to improve the abrasion resistance after oxidation and to raise the spalling resistance to some extent, but further increase over a limit brought the trend of lowering these properties. 2) Introduction of the coarse metallic silicon powder had a trend to lower the abrasion resistance after oxidation and to raise the spalling resistance to some extent, but introduction of the coarser powder over a limit brought a lowering trend for these properties. 3) It was shown that there existed regions for the most suitable powder size and also a region for the most suitable quantity of metallic silicon for high spalling resistance and high abrasion resistance after oxidation respectively. The two regions were different from each other, and therefore, selection of refractory material for field application to the sliding nozzle plate requires a decision as to the powder size and addition quantity in the desirable region in accordance with the circumstances of use to obtain high durability.
