内容简介Glass fiber and rock wool have been used to insulate buildings while making them fire resistant for many years. However these fibers shrink when exposed to direct flame because the melting point is below 1000 deg C. So they are not sufficiently fire resist. Ceramic fiber has been used to make buildings completely fire resistant recently. The Japanese Construction Law stipulates making the floor and ceiling fire resistant, so fires do not spread through the whole building. There are some holes in the floor and ceiling for setting electric cables, air conditioner piping, etc. After installing them, the hole is closed with an authorized installation method. Filling up the hole with rock wool is popular. However filling density varies with the worker.
