Lance pipes are functional devices indispensable for the hot metal pretreatment and the secondary refining of molten steel. Their wear patterns vary greatly with their shape and diverse operational conditions. The improvement of the service life of the lance pipe requires the improvement of not only the castable lining materials but also the total structure including that of a core steel pipe and the fabrication technology.
