内容简介The slide gate plate for a steel ladle is required to have high strength and good thermal spading resistance because it is damaged mechanically by thermal shock when molten steel starts to enter and it is eroded by flowing molten steel.The influence of grain sire distribution, metallic Si, phenol resin and additives composed of pitch on the mechanical properties of a slide gate plate were investigated.The above results proved that a small amount of ultra-fine powder, metallic Si, and carbon additives remarkably improve the strength of a slide gate plate. These supplementary raw materials act to strengthen a ceramic bond, metal bond and carbon bond, respectively. The results of a spalling test suggested different mechanisms of crack formation.
