内容简介Generally, alumina-silica bricks are used in the calcining zone of rotary cement kilns. An alumina-silica insulating firebrick manufactured by Asahi Glass Company has been used in this application for many years.Recently, industrial wastes are being burned in rotary cement kilns, as a raw material of cement or as a fuel, for the purposes of decreasing cost and conserving the earth's environment. There are associated changes in operating conditions, such as elongation of the flame, which causes the kiln temperature to increase, and more severe damage to the bricks in the calcining zone. Figure 1 illustrates three kinds of spalling damage in the zone. Kiln lining life has gradually decreased due to increased temperature in the calcining zone, with more and thicker spalling from the bricks. This paper reports the field performance of an unfired alumina-silica brick, with added roseki, which greatly improved structural spalling resistance to better endure the effects of industrial wastes in rotary cement kilns.
