内容简介In the LF furnace process, which is widely used as a ladle refining process of electric arc furnace steelmaking, the slag line and the metal line of the ladle are generally lined with MgO-C brick and A1_2O_3-MgO-C brick, respectively. The slag line and the bottom lining can be made to last for one campaign life of the LF ladle with one or two interim repairs, partial or total. However, the A1_2O_3-MgO-C brick for the side wall lining is required to last for one campaign life of the LF ladle without repairs, and therefore determines the campaign life of the ladle. The wear patterns of A1_2O_3-MgO-C brick used for the metal line of the LF ladle are described in this paper. Unburnt high alumina brick bonded with phosphoric acid, MgO-C brick, and A1_2O_3-C brick have been used for the metal line of the ladle used in ladle refining methods such as LF. Each of those bricks, however, has been accompanied by problems life reduction because of peeling wear caused by structural spalling (high alumina brick), the wear of joints ahead of other parts and high thermal conductivity (MgO-C brick), and the wear of joints ahead of other parts caused by insufficient residual expansion (Al_2O_3-C brick).
