内容简介In a previous paper~(1)), based on the premise that the main lifecontrolling factor for castables in tundish linings is peeling, due to structural spalling, caused by slag penetration, a material was developed for the purpose of reducing slag penetration. In this paper, the results of field testing and post mortem analysis are shown, indicating that the objectives of the study were met.Based on the field test results, the use of increased fine silica powder to reduce slag penetration, caused an improvement in the life and a decrease of the refractory consumption. The used samples that were analyzed showed a marked decrease of slag penetration, confirming the main objective of this study.
