内容简介Alumina-based castables for ladles and other applications have frequently been observed to wear by cracking and peeling-off (spalling). It has been explained that the cause of crack formation and structural spalling is slag penetration, in conjunction with thermal stresses induced by repeated heating and cooling, although this explanation is not fully accepted. This study was conducted to clarity the crack formation mechanism.
