内容简介Change in the fuel for cement rotary kilns in recent years, use of sulfur-rich fuel, for example, has affected kiln linings not only in the transition zone but also in the burning zone. The resistance against SOx of a chrome-free brick, which had newly been developed by the authors for use in the burning zone, was evaluated by a laboratory test. According to the test results, the chrome-free brick was expected to exhibit SOx resistance superior to that of the conventional magnesia-chrome or magnesia-spinel bricks. This was confirmed by a field test in a cement kiln with calciner; the brick tested in the burning zone of a calciner kiln exhibited excellent performance and its use has continued.
