内容简介It was difficult to accurately evaluate the slag corrosion resistance of carbon containing refractories by the rotary erosion furnace because a brittle decarburized layer was formed on the specimen surface by the oxidation of carbon during heating to the test temperature and this layer was easily corroded in the first slag cycle. The oxidation of carbon during heating was significantly suppressed by placing a steel pipe as a sacrificial protective shield on the inner surface of the specimens to physically isolate them from the atmosphere during heat-up. Using this technique, a highly accurate evaluation method for the slag corrosion test on carbon containing refractories such as MgO-C and Al_2O_3-C bricks could be established. Consequently, the corrosion resistance of carbon containing refractories could be accurately evaluated by using the rotary erosion test furnace.
