Corrosion testing of refractories is Important for selecting the optimum refractories to be used in furnaces and kilns, and to guide material development. At present, various corrosion testing methods are used in our company, including the oxy-propane flame heated rotary drum , rotary crucible, arc heated rotary dram , high frequency heating method, etc For routine testing, the most appropriate method is selected, considering the conditions of the application where the refractories will be used Concerning the feeding of slag/flux into the testing apparatus, all the above-mentioned methods depend on intermittent feeding, differing from the actual condition where the feed is continuous, with new slag/flux being supplied continuously, and the composition is the same all of the time. In the case of a waste ash-melting furnace, the conventional corrosion tests are not always satisfactory for the evaluation of the refractories concerned. In this study, a new feeding system was developed which can supply slag! flux similar to the actual field condition.
