内容简介Alumina-magnesia castables containing 8 percent MgO were selected for No.4 CC tundish with hot-recycle operation from the results of corrosion tests and field tests using precast blocks. The reduction of refractory wear from the removal of stuck materials as well as the suppression of wear of the impact pad, where the wear was serious in case of conventional brick, was achieved with the application of monolithic materials. In addition, the introduction of a system for the measurement of the steel casing temperature using thermocouples for the early detection of possible problems contributed the stable operation of the monolithic lined tundish. At present, the application of monolithic lining to the tundish is to be gradually advanced from No.4 CC-1 str to 2 str.
