内容简介Using a crucible corrosion test, the reaction of silicon carbide with a simulated incinerator ash was evaluated in dry and moist atmospheres, at 1000 deg C. The surface of silicon carbide was oxidized and a glass layer (Na-K-Si-O) formed. The glass layer did not restrict the corrosion attack and the oxidization proceeded slowly. The weight loss after 96 hours exposure in the corrosion test in moist air was 1.5 times more than in dry air.
