内容简介The following observations resulted from this evaluation of the resistance of Magnesia-Chrome bricks to corrosion by CaO-SiO_2-Al_2O_3 slagWhen the slag basicity was C/S = 1, the wear was a maximum, and when the basicity was higher, like C/S = 3 and 5, the wear was less.The corrosion resistance of DB bricks, in every case with C/S = 1, 3 and 5, was influenced by the brick chromia content, and, the higher the chromia content, the better the corrosion resistance. On the other hand, for the SRB bricks, the corrosion resistance was influenced by the chromia content of the bricks only for slag with C/S = 1.Regarding the resistance to slag penetration, the SRB bricks were superior to the DB bricks.The C/S value of the working face of the bricks was nearly the same as the experimental condition.In actual field operations, because a desulfurizing flux is used, which has a high C/S, with CaF_2, the amount of wear is quite high. In this study, Al_2O_3 was used instead of CaF_2, to control the viscosity of the slag and the effect of slag basicity, from high to low C/S, was investigated, So it is not possible to explain the magnitude of the actual damage in field operations using slag with CaF_2 using the results of this study. A future investigation will be necessary to document the actual effect of a slag containing corrosive CaF_2.
