内容简介An increasing use of waste in cement rotary kilns in recent years have made the kiln atmosphere reducing and increased the amount of SOx in it. Our analysis of used magnesia-spinel brick revealed that such kiln atmosphere allowed K_2SO_4 centre dot 2 CaSO_4 to form a liquid phase, which penetrated into the brick structure and accelerated the wear of the brick. This finding was used to develop a new magnesia-spinel brick possessing both high density and flexibility to withstand severe conditions inside kilns. When used in a kiln in production, in a place where rapid wear of the brick would occur because of severe conditions, the new brick exhibited a longer life as a result of the suppression of the penetration of foreign matters and relaxation of various stresses to prevent crack generation and growth. We are planning to accumulate performance data in the field and continue to improve the brick properties to meet a variety of kiln conditions.
