内容简介

In this investigation of gas evolution of silicon-containing castables, with various types of silicon, cement, and additives, the following results were obtained1) The reaction is rapid for silicon of smaller particle size. However, for the comparative study of average particle size range (18 approx 40 mu m), purity showed more effect than particle size.2) As for the effect of cement and additives, the combinations that accelerate the dissolution of Ca~(2+) ions increased the reaction. This is similar to the gas evolution behavior shown by aluminum. The gas evolution caused by silicon is mild compared with aluminum, but depending on the temperature and set adjustment of the cement in castable installations, it is possible that a defect will develop in a cast body due to gas evolution, thus it is considered necessary to select materials based on the knowledge of their gas evolution behavior.
