内容简介

The first refractory manufacturing company, Amin Abad, was established in 1939 to support the first rotary cement kiln of Tehran Cement Company. Steel production began in 1971 in Isfahan Steel Company (ISCo.) with Russian technology where they established a refractory department with nominal capacity of 25 0001 of fireclay bricks. This department later was named Azar Refractory Company and became an independent manufacturer in Isfahan. Parallel to this activity, Harbison Walker licensed an Iranian refractory company called Iran Refractory Company (IREFCo.) in Isfahan. This company with a capability of producing 40000t of magnesia based and aluminosilicate bricks as well as monolithics offered its products late seventy. After 1980, more attention was paid on the expansion of steel, cement and other refractory demanding industries. For example the steel production in 1980 was below 1 Mt, while in 2011 over 12 Mt was recorded. The cement industry has also experienced a huge expansion during last 3 decades. Other major refractory com- panies who joined the market were Pars Refractories Company (PRC) in Yazd, Iran Refractory Products Company (IREPCo.) in (Jonabad, and Mehrgodaz Refractories Company in Shahrekord who together have supplied about 80 % of the local demand. The demand for refractory has been increasing in all sectors and therefore until recently the margin of benefit in refractory industry was tempting.
