内容简介Andalusite is a refractory raw material composed by bi-oxide of aluminium and silica (Al2O3SiO2). It's very known that andalusite has strong thermostablility (resistance to thermal shock and low creep). The thermal-transformation of andalusite gives mullite (87 %) and silica glass (13 %). This silica glass can coalescence each other and can react with alumina to form secondary mullite. These two phenomena of silica glass create two ceramic matrices. In this research the authors examine the effect of introducing the andalusite matrix (0-30 %) into a light chamotte-mullite castable. From the experimental results one can conclude the improvement of the flow ability of castable without increase of water addition; the increase in apparent porosity, the decrease in the bulk density, the improvement of the hot mechanical strength (HMOR) and of the refractoriness under load (RUL) and the decrease in the thermal conductibility. All these andalusite matrix effects improve the performance of light castable
