内容简介Increases in industrial waste fed into a cement rotary kiln presumably make the atmosphere in the kiln reducing and rich in SO_3and increase the KCl concentration in it. Our study indicated that this atmosphere promoted the formation of a low-melting CaSO_4-KCl compound in our conventional spinet brick used in the transition zone. It also indicated that this liquid subsequently migrated toward the colder end, namely, the back of the brick, and as a result, caused the deterioration of the region adjacent to hot the face, accelerating the wear of the spinet brick. In order to suppress such lining wear in the kiln fed with a large amount of industrial waste, we developed a new spinet brick containing less CaO to react with 503 and having a higher density and a higher strength. Used in the transition zone of cement kiln at several plants, the new brick has demonstrated its stable performance as a result of the preventive measures to suppress structural damage by foreign matters. We intend to promote the use of the new brick and demonstrate its performance at many more plants. We will also continue to improve its quality so that it can be used under a variety of operational conditions including those governing the cooling zone.
